Ceylan is a native Turkish speaker with an MA in Teaching Turkish and 8 years of teaching behind her. She teaches adults, teens and children online, in private and group lessons.

Ceylan teaches all six CEFR levels, A1 to C2. Starting from zero is fine. If you grew up hearing Turkish but never learned to read or write it, you start from the level you actually have.

Frequently asked questions
Who are the lessons for?
Adults, teens and children who want to learn Turkish, from complete beginners to advanced learners. Tell Ceylan what you need it for (an exam, a move to Türkiye, work, family or simply speaking with confidence) and she plans the lessons around it.
Do I need to know any Turkish to start?
No. A1 starts with your very first words. If you already know some Turkish, even if you only understand it from home, you start from your real level.
What happens in the free trial lesson?
It is a free 20–30 minute online lesson. Ceylan checks your level, asks what you need Turkish for, and teaches you a real lesson. Afterwards you decide whether to continue.
Can you prepare me for TÖMER, TYS or YÖS?
Yes. Ceylan prepares students for TÖMER, TYS and the C1 level that Turkish-taught university programs ask for. For YÖS she covers the Turkish-language part only, not the maths or reasoning sections. You take the exam itself at an official exam center.
Do you teach children and teens?
Yes. Ceylan teaches children and teens, including kids who hear Turkish at home and want to read and write it. Write your child's age and level in the request.
Are there group lessons?
Yes. Ceylan teaches private one-to-one lessons and group lessons online. Say in your request which you'd prefer.
How much do lessons cost?
The trial lesson and the level test are free. For regular lessons, Ceylan sends you the current prices and lesson options when she replies to your request. You can also ask on Instagram at @turkishlessonstr.
What language are the lessons in, and how long are they?
Lessons are in Turkish, with explanations in English when you need them. A regular lesson lasts 50–60 minutes.
Do I get a certificate?
Yes, you get a certificate from Ceylan when you complete your course. It's a course certificate. If a university or employer asks for TÖMER or TYS, you take that exam separately, and Ceylan can prepare you for it.
What do I need?
A computer, tablet or phone with a stable internet connection. Headphones help, but you don't need them.
Can I move a lesson?
Yes. You can cancel or move a lesson yourself in the student app. If you do it before Ceylan's cancellation window, your lesson credit comes back.
